Mission

The Crooked Circle Academy Foundation is a Polish-American initiative that, in reference to the history of the Warsaw Crooked Circle Club and the activities of the accompanying artistic Crooked Circle Gallery, works towards its mission of promoting culture and art, education and supporting artists in order to maintain high artistic, intellectual and ethical values ​​in society.

Since its establishment, the Foundation has been building lasting, cordial relationships with artists and experts in various fields in order to professionally implement educational and cultural activities, and to promote ideas of freedom based on building an open dialogue focusing on history, contemporary art, exchange of ideas, ethics and mutual understanding.

An important area of ​​the Foundation’s activity is active action aimed at achieving goals, which
include:

  • Disseminating knowledge about the history of the Warsaw Crooked Circle Club, the Crooked Circle Gallery, along with promoting the ideas guiding these initiatives and creating social sensitivity and awareness;
  • Enabling artists to present their individual creative and intellectual achievements;
  • Initiating dialogue popularizing the results of artistic and cultural achievements and promoting interesting – innovative creations of art and culture in Poland and abroad;
  • Actively working for friendship, solidarity and effective international cooperation, including in the field of art history, taking into account the American Polish diaspora;
  • Actions aimed at shaping attitudes of open dialogue and tolerance in building mutual relations in the artistic community;
  • Actions in the field of social education by recording individual relationships in the form of, among others, interviews, photographs, biographical accounts, protection of documents and works of Polish and foreign artists;
  • Bringing together a broad movement of creators, artists, scholars and animators of culture and art around the idea of ​​the Foundation.
