The first films of the Crooked Wheel Academy are already in production!
We are pleased to announce the start of work on short documentaries that will introduce you to inspiring and unusual characters. We portray the profiles of activists involved in cultural, artistic, political and social development, as well as present stories worth telling, whose narrators will be active participants, observers together with commentators of contemporary history.
By deciding to publish films that will enable artists to present their individual creative and intellectual achievements, we challenge ourselves to create content that presents reality in an ethical, comprehensive and authentic way. We hope that these productions, together with the implementation of the educational mission, will also contribute to prompting the audience to reflect and discuss the reality around us, everyday life, which at first glance we do not notice, and whose experience provokes action and allows us to expand the view of the world.
This task was undertaken by the American-Polish team, Lily Salska-Mcneil, a young Californian artist who came to Poland to hone her photography and film workshop, and an experienced cinematographer and editor Mikołaj Miętek. Together, in the course of work full of reflection and search, they try to show in an authentic way people who have decided to share their stories and passions.
Thanks to the trust, cordiality and openness of the people who cooperate with us, who are the narrators and heroes of upcoming productions, we would like to invite you to the screening.
Among the upcoming productions that you will watch on the Foundation’s official profile on YouTube will include:
- Interview with printer Przemysław Runo in the inspiring space of the lithographic studio in Saska Kępa.
- A multi-threaded interview, in an unconventional convention, whose leitmotif was lithography. Two experienced artists with rich achievements, Andrzej Newelski in a colorful dialogue with Tomasz Dominik.
- Interview with Tadeusz Rolke, an outstanding photographer who is well-deserved for Polish reportage.
We invite you
